Another player out for a long time, injuries, and new players

In a statement released tonight, the club confirms the sad news that the tenacious midfielder Kaare André Ødegaard (KA) is out for an unknown amount of time due to mononucleosis ("kyssesyke"). Ødegaard went to a medical check today, and his worst fears were confirmed.
Oldenborg 3's no. 16 was expected to pull the strings in midfield this season, just as his favorite player, former Ireland international Roy Keane, used to do in his glory days at Manchester United.

KA's absense is another big blow for the club, with defensive anchor Jan Tore Risdal already out maybe for the whole season because of damaged cruciate ligament in his left knee. Also, powerhouse midfielder/forward Ole Fredrik Kleivene limped off at a training some weeks ago after catching a stretch on the back of his thigh. With left winger Christoffer Giske extremely prone to injuries, rock-hard center-back Øyvind Hallenstvedt struggling with a bad ankle, while "a striker's nightmare"-defender Anders Riska (Blix) also not yet in his good form of old, the club fears further injuries in the squad ahead of the big game against Oldenborg 2 on Monday 9th of March.
Happily, Ole, Øyvind and Christoffer trained together with 10 of the other players at Ljan Idrettspark on Tuesday night.

On the positive side, the club also has some good news:
Three new players were signed in February.  Presentatations will appear shortly....

Off the field, goalkeeper Urke changed his status from "single" to "in a relationship" last week. The club congratulates! :)

Øystein (right) has done as Johannes (left) did some years ago; capturing a girl :)
